You can borrow as many items as you like! The shared Same Page collection consists of nearly one million items, including books, eBooks, audiobooks, DVDs, and more. The possibilities are endless.

You can checkout and download materials from your computer or your mobile device. For instructions on how to use this service call or visit one of our locations.

If an item is lost or returned in damaged condition, you will be responsible for the replacement cost of the item.

If the book or item you want is not available to borrow or you would like the item delivered to another location for pick-up, you can place a hold request on it. Holds may be placed using several options:

  1. Search the catalogue on the library website.
  2. Contact any Colchester-East Hants Public Library branch.

When you have found an item you would like to request using the catalogue:

  1. Click the PLACE HOLD button beside the item.
  2. Enter your library card number (barcode) or username and your PASSWORD to log in to your account. Click SUBMIT.
  3. Choose a pick-up location from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click PLACE HOLD.

When your requested item arrives at the pick-up location, you will receive a notification by phone or email depending on what preference you have set in your account. The item will be held at the pick-up location for ten days.

Did you know that you can suspend and activate your holds online?

This can be especially useful for individuals who organize book clubs or simply want to put holds on items they don’t require right away. To manage your holds and have them delivered at a later time, please do the following after you have logged into your account.

Once you have placed items on hold, click on:

  • YOUR USERNAME (top right-hand corner of the page)
  • Then click ON HOLD.

To manage when holds will be fulfilled:

  • Scroll down to the title you want to pause, and click on the PAUSE HOLD button on the right side.
  • In the pop-up, click on SELECT A DATE.
  • Once a date has been selected, click YES, PLEASE HOLD.

Never forget to renew your loans again! Same Page will attempt to renew your borrowed items three days before the due date. As long as no one else is waiting, items you check out from the library will automatically renew up to three times – that’s a total of 12 weeks!

If you receive email notifications from your library, you will receive an email to let you know whether the auto-renewal was successful.

Log in to your Same Page/Bibliocommons account anytime to check due dates or manually renew your items.

Note: Most items can be renewed up to three times. Interlibrary loans, items that have already been renewed three times, and items on hold for other library users cannot be renewed.

There are several ways to renew: in person at the library, by telephoning any Colchester-East Hants Public Library location, using the library catalogue.

To renew using the library catalogue, sign in to your account and view your items checked out. Select the box next to each item you want to renew and click RENEW.

Most borrowed items may be renewed three times. The new due date will be based on the date you renew the item.

You cannot renew an item if another patron has placed a hold on it, or if the item has already been renewed three times.
